The CRIS Foundation is supported by individuals,
churches, and Christian and philanthropic organizations. In addition
to cash contributions, there have been in-kind donations of medicines,
medical supplies, and medical equipment by Sisters of Providence
of Seattle, Transitions of Guatemala, the MICAH Group of Seattle,
and Hearts in Motion of Guatemala. The CRIS Foundation is non-denominational
and receives contributions from congregations of different Christian
denominations.
The Board of Directors, management, and Guatemalan staff are currently
all non-salaried volunteers. Less than three percent of CRIS Foundation
income is used for fund raising (primarily the quarterly newsletter
and related postage) with the remaining 97 percent funding Foundation
programs and projects in Guatemala.
The Foundation provides approximately $1000 per month to support
basic operations in Guatemala. Additional funding is used for
specific projects and humanitarian aid related to natural disasters
such as hurricane relief.
The CRIS Foundation is a legally registered non-profit organization
incorporated in the State of Washington (UBI 601 693 168). It
is also registered to solicit funds in Washington and Arizona.
It is a qualified charitable organization under section 501(c)(3)
of the IRS Code (EIN 94-3254372). All contributions are 100% tax
deductible as allowed by law.
Copies of the CRIS Foundation annual filings with
the IRS are available upon request to the Foundation office.
